Kappou Gomi

Kitty and Ducky
Kappou Gomi
5524 Geary Blvd
San Francisco, CA 94121

(415)221-5353
Note: They recently started taking reservations but it requires $30 to place the reservation. On popular nights I recommend either coming butt early or butt late if you're opting out on reserving a table.

Ducky and I were craving for Japanese food and heard of this place via a classmate's recommendation. We heard it was a bit pricey, so we chose it as our Valentine's Day dinner venue. With no reservation we came up to their door right when they opened at around 5:45 pm. All tables were reserved except for one and the bar, so we got lucky.

Flying Fish Sashimi
[$19]

This is the tastiest sashimi I have ever eaten.  The flesh of the flying fish was very sweet and delicate.  Unfortunately, it only comes with about 6 or 7 small pieces.  It makes me wonder what they do with the rest of the fish?  There are no other flying fish dishes on the menu.  On the other hand, I have never seen a fish prepared in this way.  The flesh is removed leaving the spine, head and tail.  The cut up sashimi is lined up along the spine with some daikon, carrots, and seaweed for a garnish.  Just seeing the fish displayed so artistically is an experience in of itself.  It is very rare that Kitty will even eat sashimi, but she made an exception and tried a few pieces.  She was surprised that it had little to no fishy taste that she dislikes about sashimi.  This is the only restaurant she actually found the sashimi to be palatable.  -Ducky [4.5/5]

Miso Grilled Black Cod
[$9]

Despite its small size, it delivered an enormous tasting experience. The flesh was so soft and so saturated with exquisite miso flavor yet it was not overly salty at all. In fact it was even a bit sweet. I was also very impressed by the presentation. That fish tail decoration was actually carved from a piece of pickled ginger. -Kitty [4/5]

Cha-Soba
Green Tea Noodles with Onsen Egg and Deep Fried Vegetables
[$12]

I was hoping to taste green tea flavor in the noodles but I did not. This dish served as a palate cleanser for us since all our other dishes were so flavorful. Although soba is a very typical dish that can be found anywhere, I found that Kappou Gomi still grilled their basics down and still made this simple piece remarkable. The noodles were soft and not starchy at all. The onsen egg was well made, soft and delicate egg white and creamy runny yolk on the inside. Their tempura was one of the best I've had: big crunch, not too oily, and a good vegetable to batter ratio. -Kitty [3.5/5]

Crab Cream Croquette
[$7.50]

The crab croquettes were very nicely deep fried.  The skin was crispy and contained the creamy goodness of the crab and sauce.  We were surprised that they used real crab instead of the imitation crab meat.  The crab meat was slightly sweet and the sauce was just savory enough.  The croquette had a good contrast of flavors and texture.  The crisp of the first bite followed by the crunch and springy-ness of the crab meat inside made this one of my favorite croquettes.  -Ducky [4.75/5]

Golden Yolk Grilled Sea Urchin
Mix of Egg Yolk and Sea Urchin Baked in an Apple Topped with Grilled Sea Urchin
[$12]

This was probably the most unique dish we had and its deliciousness matched up to its exotic nature. The grilled top was straight up savory sea urchin but as I dug deeper, the core revealed a center full of creamy and rich sea urchin mixed with egg taste. And not to mention the divine sweetness coaxed from the apple blended excellently with each bite. This is a MUST try! -Kitty [4.5/5]

Miso Grilled Oyster
[$7.50]
Ducky

Kappou Gomi knows how to do seafood right.  I do not like the raw fishy taste of oysters.  Rarely do I order oysters because I feel that most places don't do them the way I like them, sans fishyness.  I decided to give kappou gomi's oysters a try because of all the reviews about the freshness of their seafood and the skill of the chef.  The miso grilled oyster dish comes with two decently sized oysters slathered in a sweet and savory miso sauce.  The oysters were just how I imagined them to look and, to an extent, taste.  The oysters were free of the fishyness that I do not like, but I felt that the trade off was to have the oysters drowning in the sauce.  I felt that the sauce was a bit overpowering and took away from the oysters a bit.  However, I would not mind trying Kappou Gomi's other oyster dishes in the future.  Until then, I still am in the search for an oyster dish that I fully enjoy.  - Ducky [4/5]

Horaku Egg Custard
Egg Custard with Shrimp, Crab and Scallop
[$13.50]

When I ordered this I imagined it to be more similar to chawanmushi, steamed egg custard in a cup. Instead this was served in a very shallow bowl, but nonetheless I was still pleased. It was jam packed full of fresh seafood giving this dish a sweeter essence. The egg was a little overcooked but I imagined it to be because of the shallow vessel. Otherwise still good. -Kitty [3.5/5]

Isobe Mochi
Grilled Mochi Wrapped in Seaweed
[$4]

Mochi is one of my favorite carbs, so I was excited to try this. The outside was definitely crispy and well saturated with the flavor of soy sauce. On the inside, it was still soft but after a couple of bites I noticed a dry and crumbly texture in my mouth. Not bad, still an enjoyable side. -Kitty [3/5]

Rib Eye Sukiyaki
[$30]

This was my first time having Sukiyaki.  I didn't really know what the difference between shabu and sukiyaki is, but they seem to be very similar.  I think the main difference is the sauce/soup that is used in sukiyaki.  The flavors are a lot stronger and penetrates into the meat and vegetables more.  We ordered the rib eye sukiyaki.  It was the middle tier quality meat that was available.  We didn't want to completely cheap out, but we didn't want to splurge any more than we had to.

Animal Fat to Grease Our Pan

When the waitresses brought the shallow pot/pan out to us with a solitary piece of flesh, we were a bit confused.  I was shocked that this is all we get for $30!!  Fortunately, this was just the chunk of animal (pig?) fat to grease the bottom of the pan.  This was the first time I have seen any place use actual animal fat to grease the pan instead of butter or some sort of vegetable oil.  Plus, the little bit of meat in the middle of the fat was a nice bonus later.  The pan is resting on top of a portable propane stove that they brought out to our table.

Entire Sukiyaki with Meat, Noodles, and Vegetables

Lastly, they brought out the vegetables and the sukiyaki sauce.  The waitresses helped us get started with the sukiyaki soup and placed some of the noodles and vegetables into the pot for us.  The soup/sauce really penetrated into everything that was cooked in the pan.  The meat and vegetables were nicely flavored in a light miso taste that was sweet and savory.  After the waitresses got us started, it was essentially like shabu where we cook our own meats and vegetables and consume them as we go.  We decided to save the meat for last and got some confused looks from the waitresses, but it still turned out just fine.  There were a large variety of vegetables to add to our sukiyaki, but it is not something I would crave and have to get again.  -Ducky [4/5]

Would we come here again? Probably, but in the far distant future.  It was just too pricey for our shallow pockets.  The total for the two of us came out to be about $119... Yes, that is not a typo.  It was good food with fresh ingredients, but Kappou Gomi is not somewhere I would eat regularly.  -Ducky

This was probably the most gourmet Japanese restaurant that I have been to. Its service, quality, and presentation really placed themselves into a higher level than your typical nice sushi bar. If you're looking for bento combos or sushi rolls, then this is not a place to go. If you're looking for something more on the traditional side then this place marks the spot. -Kitty

Overall Score: [4.5/5] A pricey romantic evening, but definitely a gourmet dining experience

Trip to Southern California

Kitty Solo

Not a restaurant review per se, but I got a chance to visit a very good friend of mine last weekend and bless her heart for showing me around a tip of the iceberg of Southern California. I was only there for 2.5 days but we wasted no time and we did not waste any stomach room either. Onward ho!

No. 1 Noodle House
18180 Colima Road
Rowland Heights, CA 91748

(626)839-7093

Beef Noodle Soup
[~$8]

Nestled in Yes Plaza, this delectable was sold in a small shop. My friend told me that they were known for the tender beef and she did not lie. It was very soft and full of flavor. They offered plenty of noodles, some stalks of vegetables and a small handful of pickled vegetables. This place makes a great lunch stop or a quick dinner. [4/5]

Phoenix Food Boutique
18166 Colima Road
Rowland Heights, CA 91478

(626)965-8688

Assorted Mochi Combo: Taro, Mango, Red Bean, and Sesame
[~$3.25]

I had previously been to Phoenix before but I didn't have a chance to try too many things, but this time was different. Mochis! Pheonix's mochis have a high filling to skin ratio. Personally I prefer more chewy mochi skin goodness but fans of filling will have a party in their mouth. I also appreciated the tiny toasted coconut flakes on the surface, which gave me texture variety while I chewed. [3.5/5]

Mango Grapefruit Pudding
[~$3]

This dessert bore resemblance of Hong Kong's classic mango pudding but with a twist --> grapefruit! Normally I don't like grapefruit due to its sour and bitter aftertaste but when some of its pulp was mixed with the very sweet mango and pudding dessert the sweet and tart combination was very appealing. [3.5/5]

Phoenix Milk Tea
[~$3]

This milk tea is STRONG. Good and wholesome, but strong! I strongly recommend this for people who either enjoy that taste or need that afternoon pick me up buzz! [3.5/5]

Macau Tiramisu
[~$3]

The anatomy of this tiramisu version was that it alternated between this very sweet crumbly graham cracker textured layer of cake and a subtly sweet cream for about 3-4 layers. It had a hint of coffee taste and no rum taste at all. This wasn't overpoweringly sweet and definitely worth a try if you can't decide on any dessert! [4/5]

Other notables that weren't shown:
Barley Juice with Lime [~$3] - The name says it all, a very cool and refreshing drink with barley bits and the lime adds a nice little kick [3.5/5]
Durian Roll [~$3] - This is a MUST for durian lovers! It's a rectangular piece of mochi with the coconut toppings wrapped around durian filling. I bought this for Ducky and he was very pleased when he nommed on it (and so was I!). [4.5/5]

Half and Half Tea Express
18558 Gale Ave
Industry, CA 91748

Iced Milk Drink with Caramel, Grass Jelly, and Honey Boba
[$3.85]

A sky rocketing trend these days in the milk tea world is the emergence of iced milk drinks. It's not straight up milk, but a very sweet and creamy drink. Of course like other pearl drinks you can load it up with a lot condiments whether it's pudding, jellies, or pearls. Half and Half is one of the most famous, if not the most famous place to grab one of these suckers. I ordered the most popular drink and replaced the pudding with grass jelly. I could have done without the caramel because I felt it made it too sweet for me, but otherwise I loved the drink. It's definitely a different taste from the usual milk tea drinks. It's that creamy aftertaste that really got me hooked. [5/5]

P.S. For us folks up in the Bay Area, there is a notable shop in San Francisco known as the Purple Kow that also serves iced milk just as good @ 3620 Balboa Street, SF, CA 94121. Beware though, at their busiest times the wait can be up to 40 minutes long so coming at off periods are recommended!

Honey Pig
3400 W 8th Street
Los Angeles, CA 90005

(213)380-0256

Pork Belly Barbecue Set
[~$26]

Grilled Pork Belly with Kimchi, Green Onion, and Bean Sprouts on a Rice Wrap

We received a couple of recommendations to try this place from my class mates. It's not an all you can eat restaurant, but I felt the quality of meat was very good. I love pork belly, especially its thicker cut brethren. The set came with Korean miso soup, meat, green onion salad, kimchi, bean sprouts, green lettuce an onion, and fried rice! It's a better deal to me than going to Benihana. My friend ordered the bulgolgi set which was also good but I believe this place is more known for their pork, hence Honey Pig! [4/5]

The Grove - Farmer's Market
189 The Grove Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90036

Coffee, Chocolate, Praline Macarons
[$5]

The Farmer's Market at The Grove in Los Angeles is one of the most charming places I have been to in Southern California. It has many permanent stalls offering a variety of baked goods, imports, specialty foods, teas, and so much more. I highly recommend this place for a stroll in the early evening (and to whet your appetite). At Mr. Marcel's Gourmet Market I picked up a few enticing macarons. They were very delicious and well made. Crunchy outside layer but cookie like texture on the inside, and who can deny their wonderfully flavored creams in the middle? The price for these macarons is a steal. [4/5]

Tebo Tebo Tea Lounge
15556 Brookhurst Street
Westminster, CA 92683

(714)839-0030

O.M.G.
Red Beans, Pom Pearls, Grass Jelly, Pandan Jelly, and Boba in Coconut MIlk
[$3.50]

They weren't kidding when they called it the O.M.G. because I was flabbergasted at how huge this drink was. Normally I am not a fan of coconut milk, but mixed in with the variety of jellies it came with made the experience overall enjoyable. This is only one of Tebo Tebo's plethora of drinks available. [3.5/5]

Grilled Honey Garlic Pork
[$1.99/stick]

This was really good meat on a stick. And it was also really cheap which won me over. Usually when I go to yakitori places I am baffled at how they can charge so much for meat on a stick (even if it's "specially charcoal grilled"). Although it was a bit salty, still a tasty treat (and not to mention the complementing pickled carrots and daikon salad that comes with it). [4/5]

Eye Candy Toast Box
Thick Toast Topped with Condensed Milk Custard Cream, Strawberries, Apples, Green Tea Ice Cream, and Mochi
[$7.99]

This is the very reason we stepped into this cafe. The gigantic toast box of wonders. To give a good perspective....this monster is probably about a little under a foot. What made this so unique to me was how they toasted it and pre-cubed the insides for you. When sliced open you'll get a number of carb-licious cubes tumbling out. Combining that with the jam packed toppings that come on top of this toast box made it a divine eating fest. I believe this is what Tebo Tebo is most famous for, their toast boxes and I highly recommend going here to try it! [5/5]

Daikon Rice Cake with Egg and Papaya Salad
[$3.99]

We ordered a couple of things including that pork skewer and this rice cake to balance out the overload of sweets we were going to have. It was good, not too greasy, and a good palate cleanser, but nothing extraordinary over here. [3/5]

Bruxie
292 North Glassell Street
Orange, CA 92866

(714)633-3900

Creme Brulee Waffle
[$6.50]

This was another venue recommended to me by my classmates. My friend and I teamed up so we could have a chance to try one savory and one sweet waffle sandwich. The Creme Brulee Waffle got a little cold by the time we sunk our teeth in, but it was still a tasty waffle with its fruits and creme. Not sure if it was because it got cold but as good as it was it didn't leave a strong impression on me. [3.5/5]

Fried Chicken and Waffle with Maple Syrup
[$6.95]

It was down to this guy or the burger....but I am such a sucker for chicken and waffles. The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, kind of like a gourmet Eggo waffle. The chicken was surrounded in wonderful deep fry crunch but it was not over breaded (so not super heavy!). The meat itself was not dry at all and remained succulent. And the maple syrup just gave it a further boost. Highly recommended! [4/5]

Frances Bakery & Coffee
404 East 2nd Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012

(213)680-4899

French Macarons
Lemon, Rose, Strawberry, Raspberry, Melon, and Hazelnut
[$1.85/each]

This quaint little bakery offers a wide variety of macarons and upon my first few bites I was very pleased. The macarons here tend to have a more moist and chewier texture (and I love chewy things so I chewed, and chewed, and chewed). No matter how good a macaron is though, unless it's some sort of exotic flavor, I felt that $1.85 was a bit of a higher price. Still! Any macaron fan must visit this place! [4/5]

Marron Cake
[~$4]

Chestnut cake! A rare sighting for me so it was a must try, and I did not regret it at all. The cake was soft and spongy layered with white cream. What really captured me was the chestnut flavor that the topping exuded. It was so fragrant and just the right amount of sweet. [4/5]

Passion Fruit Cake
[~$4]

I wanted to try one of their fruit cakes. Cake base was similar to that of the Marron cake where it was spongy and soft. The mousse was very sweet but the glaze on top was tart to balance everything out. It was an excellent fruit flavored based cake, but it did not leave as strong of an impression as the Marron cake did. [3.5/5]

Fat Spoon
329 East 1st Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012

(213)621-7890

Sea Urchin Cream Croquette
[~$9]

This croquette was impressive! Despite its small size it packed a lot of flavor, and not just from the cream! They were not hesitant to stuff in delicious sea urchin to create such an egg like, creamy yolk-y flavor. Seafood lovers must try. [3.5/5]

Sea Urchin and Mushroom Pasta
[~$15]

This is Fat Spoon's signature dish so we were curious to see what they had to offer. Its shazam did not from the noodles but from the sauce. They employed a light sea urchin cream sauce to give this bowl of carbs a lift. The mushrooms added an extra layer of flavor. Job well done. [3.5/5]

Squid Ink Seafood Pasta
[~$15]

We were really excited to satisfy our craving for squid ink pasta but to our dismay it was simply pasta drowning in squid ink. They were generous with the seafood but this dish's taste was really lacking. [2.5/5]

Fugetsu-Do
315 East 1st Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012

(213)625-8595

Sakura Mochi
[$1.25]

A hop and a skip away from the Fat Spoon is Fugetsu-Do. I've been to this mom and pop shop a couple times for their mochis and daifukus and manjus.......Of course when my eye caught on the sakura mochi, a favorite rice cake of mine, I had to buy it despite being so stuffed. They had a red bean and white bean option. I went for the white one which was subtly not as a sweet as its red counterpart. Soft chewy texture of the pink rice made me smile. This place is a must for sweets fans! P.S. Do not eat the leaf [3.5/5]

Ten Ren
154 W Valley Boulevard
San Gabriel, CA 91776

(626)288-663

Iced Milk with Brown Sugar and Grass Jelly
[~$3.50]

It wasn't iced milk from the famous Half and Half but the line was too long and I was going to miss my flight back home. It still had that novel creamy sweet flavor of a signature iced milk but Ten Ren's style was different in that the drink was more like a slush. It was still quite tasty and I sipped it away happily before the TSA could take it away. [4/5]

Whew....I don't think I was every remotely near hunger during my short stay down in Southern California. It's certainly a dining wonderland and I really appreciate my friend for taking me around and squeezing so much into the time we had. To think it was only the tip of an iceberg! I am certainly going to pay another visit down so if you have suggestions please comment! -Kitty

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse

Kitty and Ducky
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
1601 Van Ness Ave
San Francisco, CA 94109

(415)673-0557

This was our last stop of the year for San Francisco's Dine About Town. Ducky saw the four $ signs on Yelp and wanted to seize the bargain opportunity. Finding parking was difficult since it was nestled in such a busy street area. However we were determined to see what the hoopla was all about with this steakhouse. I opted for the Dine About Town menu while Ducky opted for the restaurant's year round prix fixe meal (which is according to our waiter "The Dine About Town Menu on Steroids").

Dine About Town Prix Fixe: $35
Ruth's Chris Prix Fixe: $40

House Salad

Mixed greens, croutons, and grape tomatoes. They used a vinaigrette dressing which is what I much prefer over cream based dressings. There were no surprising elements here. -Kitty [3/5]

Bean and Chorizo Soup

The bean and chorizo soup was not all that spectacular.  I tried pretty hard to enjoy it, but it just didn't satisfy my expectations.  It just tasted like a simple canned soup with beans and sausage.  Nothing more needs to be said.  -Ducky [2/5]

Petite Filet Mignon

It came out molten hot yet the inside was still soft and juicy. The steak was also lathered in butter, as you can see in the above picture. Excellent crust. Overall it was a good steak but I felt that I would have been just as content with the ones I make at home or had better elsewhere. -Kitty [3.5/5]

Seared Bay Scallops

The scallops were very nicely done.  I think this was our favorite dish out of everything else that was ordered.  However, it was a very small portion.  It was essentially 5 "large" scallops with some vegetables.  Was it worth the extra 5 dollars?  Maybe, but I do not see myself ordering it again any time soon.  -Ducky [3.5/5]

Creamed Spinach

I had no idea what I was thinking when I ordered this side. With one bite though I knew it was not my cup of tea. Butter and cream was all I tasted...and maybe a hint of spinach. Don't get me wrong I am all for butter but this was too much for me. Paula Deen fans would approve. -Kitty [1/5]

It was more cream and butter than spinach. HAHA -Ducky

Sauteed Green Beans

Buttery sauteed green beans.  It seems to me everything except the lemon at Ruth Chris is lathered with butter.  The green beans were pretty tasty and very buttery.  Butter makes everything taste good? I would have been just as happy if it was just a simple sauteed green bean with salt, pepper, and olive oil.  -Ducky [3/5]

Lemon

We thought they were quite fancy for wrapping their lemons in this mesh wrapper. That's all. :)

Chocolate cake and Fruits with Sweet Cream Sauce

It was a very rich chocolate cake, so I was glad that it came in such a small size. The sweet cream sauce was nice but did not leave any lasting impression on me. After such a heavy dinner, being greeted with a dessert that was nearly as heavy only turned the experience into a drawn out marathon to finish my food. -Kitty [3/5]

Chocolate Cheesecake

VERY VERY VERY rich chocolate cheesecake. It took a large majority of my will power to just finish this dessert.  I do not really like cheesecake, but I wanted to give this a chance to have something different from Kitty's dessert.  The cheesecake was very rich, sweet, and mushy.  That is just a recipe for disaster for my taste buds, heh.  -Ducky [2/5]

Despite our low ratings, don't think that Ruth's Chris is a terrible restaurant! It is not at all. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very classy and service is wonderful. It's still a good place for steak whether it's for a date, celebration, or to satisfy your carnivore needs. We were just not fans of its heavier cooking style. -Kitty

At one point I felt that this restaurant should be called Ruth Chris's Butterhouse. HAHA.  I did manage to go to a different Ruth Chris, but I ordered a rib-eye steak.  It was actually a very good steak.  I guess the quality could vary depending on the steak/cut you order and maybe Dine About Town or regular dining.  Who knows?  -Ducky

Isa

Kitty and Ducky
Isa
3324 Steiner St
San Francisco, CA 94123

(415)567-9588

We heard of this restaurant from a classmate and it was also participating in Dine About Town. Ducky and I decided to make a spontaneous trip. The restaurant is located at a nice spot with lots of neat little shops to walk around and look at things. Isa was a little unique because instead of serving both of our foods, they served us one dish at a time. What was supposed to be a 3 course meal stretched into feeling like a 6 course meal. Personally I enjoyed this style because it was a slower and more relaxed pace and gave us a chance to really enjoy the food.

Salmon Carpaccio
[$13]

The carpaccio was pretty fresh.  The bread chips was a nice touch and added a different level of texture.  Normally, I do not like the taste of capers, but I felt the capers added a nice salty flavor.  If you like sashimi, you will probably love this.  However, keep in mind it is raw fish.  Kitty did not like this dish too much because of that fact.  -Ducky [4/5]

Steamed Prince Edward Island Mussels
[$12]

Served in a light tomato broth, the mussels were tender and fresh. It did not have any fishy or seafood taste/odor. As you can see from the picture, they are very generous in how much mussels they gave. It's a clean and simple dish recommended for any seafood lover. -Kitty [3.5/5]

Truffle Risotto with Shiitake and Hon Shimiji Mushrooms
[$19]
This risotto was finely made. The rice was soft but not to the point of feeling like I was eating porridge. The mushrooms were divine. I really appreciated the fungi variety and each type offered a different taste. Even though this dish had no meat, it was very enjoyable. -Kitty [4/5]

Duck with Currants, Pine nuts, and Bacon served with Sherry Vinaigrette Sauce
[$22]

I love duck. Period.  This dish did not disappoint.  It offered a different variety of duck that I had never experienced before.  The duck was nicely roasted with a slightly crispy outside layer all around the duck breast.  The bacon complemented the roast duck flavor quite nicely.  The roast duck had a bit of hammy taste with it too.  This is a dish that I would not mind trying again.  -Ducky [4/5]

Semifreddo All' Amaretto
[$6]

This was a unique dessert because it had the texture of an ice cream but it was not cold at all. For some people that may be too weird of a sensation but I loved it. It wasn't too sweet and the almond flavor possessed a pleasant fragrant. -Kitty [4/5]

Grapefruit Granite
[$6]

The grapefruit granite was much like a sorbet.  It had a very strong yet crisp grapefruit flavor.  It was a nice refreshing fruit/dessert dish and I am a sucker for fruity flavored dishes! -Ducky [4/5]

We went ahead and put prices on the items we ate if it was on a normal day instead of Dine About Town. Isa also offers their own Prix Fix Meal for $30 as opposed to Dine About Town's usual prix fix for $35 which is a very good deal. Also, if you can try to get a seat in the back where the "patio" is. It's a very romantic setting that simulates an outdoor background without needing to brave the actual cold outdoors of San Francisco. -Kitty

So true, Prix Fixe for $30.  I felt a bit betrayed after I found that out.  There was little to no difference between their usual Prix Fixe and Dine About Town's selection except...$5 MORE!!!! - Ducky

On a side note: Foie Gras lovers or people like Ducky and me who want to try it once in their life! Before this delicacy becomes banned in California, Isa is a venue that offers it without being attached onto a hefty prix fix such as the foie gras offered in Gary Danko or La Folie.

Overall Score: [4/5] One of our favorites and we will surely come back for the foie gras
